The Great Repricing is Here!
David's Takeaway .....
The Great Repricing is already here, where everything in daily life from plastic bottles and snack packaging, medicines, every product that moves across the planet and fuel are all being repriced upward in real time due to disruptions in energy and petrochemicals.
Expect 12 month onset time to full impact and I do not see a return to pre-crisis pricing levels because all of these new trade deals and shortages are reshaping global supply chains.

Notes of Interest
G lobal Repricing Underway: Everyday essentials are seeing sharp price increases due to disruptions in oil, plastics, fertilizers and shipping through the Strait of Hormuz. Plastic bottles could cost 12¢ more, snack bags 12–15¢ more and burger film wrapping an extra 3¢ each.
Taiwan Remains Stable: While much of the world faces shortages, Taiwan continues operating normally as a key hub for semiconductor chips and plastic precursors, with no major fuel price hikes or stay-home orders.
Fertilizer Crisis Looms: Severe disruptions in ammonia and fertilizer trade are expected to cause a 20% global reduction in food production this year, with many U.S. farmers likely to plant far less or nothing at all due to skyrocketing costs.
Farm Bankruptcies Surge: U.S. farm bankruptcies rose 46% in 2025, potentially taking millions of acres offline and accelerating consolidation into large corporate operations.
Fuel Shortage Narratives Questioned: New Zealand’s fuel reserves mysteriously doubled from 23 to 47 days, while Australian stations are turning green again — raising suspicions of artificially created or targeted shortages to push lockdown-style policies.
Economic War: The conflict is primarily economic; the goal appears to be maximum disruption of supply chains, energy, and food to collapse economies rather than traditional battlefield victory.
Plastics Production Heavily Disrupted: Force majeure declarations and export bans on key precursors (MEG, PTA, PET resin) from Taiwan, China, and Gulf countries will drive plastic packaging costs significantly higher for the next 7–9 months.
Airlines Facing Bankruptcy Risk: Jet fuel shortages and canceled flights are hitting carriers hard, with some already losing millions daily and raising ticket prices sharply in affected regions.
Agenda 2030 Acceleration: Many current disruptions align with long-term goals of reduced travel, limited consumption (e.g., one flight per year), population reduction, and increased reliance on AI, robotics, and centralized control systems. | |
