Jesus is different that we were told...
Researchers at Oxford University confirmed what Ethiopian monks have guarded for fifteen centuries: the oldest illustrated Christian manuscripts on earth never left their mountain monastery.
What those monks have been guarding — and what some of them were recently ordered to destroy — turns out to be something the rest of the Christian world was never meant to see.
Deep inside a monastery carved into the cliffs of northern Ethiopia, a handful of monks made a decision. They had held a manuscript for generations. They had been told, explicitly, that it should never leave their walls. Some accounts suggest they were told to go further than that — to remove it from existence entirely.
They didn't.
